Erhardt ERKO is a family-owned manufacturing company in Buchen, Germany. Our focus is surface finishing through anodising and powder coating, complemented by in-house machining and fabrication.
We can machine components before surface treatment and carry out subsequent processing. Depending on the project, assembly, packaging, labelling and order picking can be included.

- The beginnings
Starting in Hainstadt
Gustav Erhardt began with three employees in a barn in Hainstadt. Growing orders brought increasing demands on premises and equipment.
- 1981
Moving towards Buchen’s industrial area
In 1981, the decision was made to locate the business in Buchen’s industrial area. The new site offered room for further development.
- 1982
Moving into the new building in Buchen
In 1982, the company moved from Hainstadt into the new building in Buchen.
- 1983
Combining finishing and machining
In April 1983, Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung reported on the growing company, which then employed twelve people. Mechanical processing and anodising were already being combined to manufacture complete parts.
- 1980s
Contact systems developed from practical experience
ERKO contact systems were developed to meet the needs of our own anodising operation. This combination of surface treatment and our own technical solutions continues to shape the product range.
- 1998
Handover to the second generation
In 1998, Jürgen Erhardt, Gustav Erhardt’s son, took over the company and continued it as Jürgen Erhardt e.K.
- 2019
Third generation and Erhardt ERKO GmbH
The third generation took over in 2019. In the same year, Jürgen Erhardt e.K. became Erhardt ERKO GmbH.
- Today
Combining manufacturing and finishing
Erhardt ERKO combines anodising, powder coating, machining and fabrication with assembly and further processing. Contact systems complement these services as a distinct product family.

Powder coating
Component coating with an agreed colour, texture and gloss level. Pre-treatment depends on material and application.
Machining and fabrication
CNC milling, welding, punching and sawing, individually or combined with subsequent surface treatment.
ERKO contact systems
Our own product family for current transfer in electroplating, anodising and printed circuit board production lines, with different designs and customised base plates.
Contact systems from our own practical experience
ERKO contact systems arose from practical surface treatment requirements. They establish electrical contact with current-carrying components in electroplating equipment.
Cast blanks are sourced from specialist suppliers and CNC-machined at ERKO. Base plates and installation arrangements are agreed for each production line.
