Aluminium anodising

Protect, finish and enhance aluminium.

  • Clear (natural) aluminium anodising
  • Coloured aluminium anodising
  • Pre-treatment: grinding, brushing and etching
Maximum component dimensions3,000 × 1,000 × 350 mm
Technical details

Aluminium alloys

Alloy and material condition influence the result, especially for decorative surfaces. We assess other alloys for each project.

Anodising colours

Clear (natural), gold and bronze shades, black and other colours on request. The samples show colours from our existing range.

On-screen colours are not binding colour references. Material, pre-treatment and processing influence the shade. We agree the required colour and sample for your component.

Pre-treatment: grinding, brushing and etching

Grinding, brushing and etching prepare aluminium for anodising and influence its appearance. We agree the appropriate pre-treatment based on material, initial surface condition and the required finish.

Components and functional surfaces

Maximum component dimensions are 3,000 × 1,000 × 350 mm. Geometry, electrical contact and suspension must also be suitable. Mark fits, threads and surfaces with special requirements on your drawing.

Information for assessment

Please provide the material or alloy, drawing, quantity, required colour and coating requirements. Contact points and dimensionally critical areas should be agreed before processing.

Powder coating

Durable finishes for your components.

  • Aluminium, steel, brass and stainless steel
  • Colour and finish to suit your requirements
  • Agree texture and gloss level
Maximum component dimensions3,000 × 2,000 × 1,500 mm
Technical details

Materials

We powder-coat aluminium, steel, brass, stainless steel and suitable graphite-containing plastics. We assess the suitability of each component, including its temperature resistance, for the project.

Pre-treatment

Alkaline degreasing and etching, and phosphating, prepare surfaces for coating. The suitable process depends on material and application requirements.

Colours and finishes

RAL colours and special colours on request. Finishes include smooth, fine texture and coarse texture, with gloss, satin and matt options. We agree colour, availability and coating system for the project.

Preparation and component size

Material, surface condition and intended use determine the appropriate preparation. Maximum component dimensions are 3,000 × 2,000 × 1,500 mm; suspension and geometry must also be considered.

Threads, fits and visible surfaces

Powder coating adds material. Tell us which functional surfaces must remain uncoated and where suspension points are acceptable. Please flag combinations of materials and temperature-sensitive attachments early.

Machining and fabrication

Machine your components, then finish them.

  • CNC milling
  • Welding
  • Punching
  • Sawing
  • Materials: aluminium, steel and copper
  • Assess manufacturing requirements from your drawing
  • Coordinate subsequent anodising or powder coating
Technical details

CNC milling

Your drawing, material, quantity and required tolerances form the basis of our feasibility assessment. Agree fits, threads and visible surfaces early, especially where surface finishing follows.

Welding

Tell us which components need joining and what the joint must achieve. We agree a suitable approach based on your material and drawing.

Punching

Please provide material, geometry and quantity. Punching options are assessed for your component.

Sawing

Specify the required cut and material. We coordinate cutting and subsequent processing to suit your requirements.

Materials

We process aluminium, steel and copper. We assess suitable methods for the material and component geometry from your drawing.

Manufacturing requirements from your drawing

Mark dimensionally critical areas, functional surfaces and special requirements on your drawing. Tell us whether assembly, packaging or order picking is also required.

Subsequent anodising or powder coating

Mechanical processing and subsequent anodising or powder coating can be planned together. This helps coordinate fits, visible surfaces and finishing requirements.

Electroplating and anodising accessories

Contact technology and accessories for electroplating, anodising and printed circuit board production lines.

  • ERKO contact blocks and contact heads
  • Plastic bearing blocks for carrier rails
  • Plastic screws for thread protection
  • Single and double clips for contacting and fastening
Product details

ERKO contact blocks and contact heads

Contact blocks transfer current to the carrier rail. Contact heads electrically connect racks to the carrier rail. Both establish electrical contact in electroplating equipment. Please provide current rating, rail dimensions and installation details. See the product page for designs and accessories.

Plastic bearing blocks

Plastic bearing blocks support carrier rails. Dimensions and mounting holes are adapted to the installation. Special sizes are available on request.

Plastic screws

Plastic screws protect threads during anodising. Their chemically resistant design and short threaded section allow quick handling. Please agree the appropriate thread size with us.

Single and double clips

Reusable clips electrically connect and fasten components to a bar. Depending on component geometry, single or double clips may be suitable. We agree available dimensions and the appropriate design with you.
